Position: Lighting Technician

Location: Long Eaton, Nottingham region

Salary: £34,315+ vehicle, pension, medical, 33 days holiday (including bank holidays) + opportunities for overtime

Monday - Friday – 45 hours a week

City FM continue to enjoy sustained growth with its impressive multi-site client base which includes a National Facilities contract for ASDA.

We are now actively looking to recruit a Lighting Technician within ASDA retail stores.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Lighting Technician will carry out planned lighting maintenance and emergency repair work in designated ASDA stores in the Long Eaton, Nottingham areas to pre-determined standards whilst complying with the Company Health and Safety policy.

The Lighting Technician will be working with another colleague and will share a work van, the other colleague lives in Long Eaton, Nottingham

Role will involve daily travel, there will be regular overnight stays (1-2 every week) and there may well be occasional night shifts when working on special projects within ASDA stores.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To represent the company in a professional and competent manner at all times and develop a good working relationship with the IST’s (In Store Technicians) and Asda colleagues.
  • To carry out all aspects of planned maintenance and emergency repair work.
  • To respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk, to assess the requirements of the job, to carry out any repairs which he/she is qualified to make and to notify the Area Manager of any repairs that he/she cannot complete.
  • To attend training courses as and where necessary and to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments.
  • To comply with all Health and Safety regulations and the company’s Health and Safety Policy at all times.
  • To work with company and Asda colleagues to ensure that laid-down standards of quality are always maintained.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

  • High degree of flexibility in working hours
  • High degree of mobility – travelling throughout the area
  • Personal fitness – the nature of the job requires the jobholder to climb ladders, work in confined spaces etc.
  • Candidates must be18th edition qualified, any additional Electrical qualifications would be good but not essential
  • Full and valid driving licence – ideally have a C1 Category licence

  • Quality of repairs and maintenance
  • Speed and efficiency of work
  • Response to service call requests within agreed response times
  • Achievement of tasks within the timescales set
  • Maintenance of Health and Safety policy
  • Customer and colleague relationships and feedback.

Please only apply if you have a driving licence and have 18th edition and are OK with daily travel and staying away from home on average 1-2 nights a week.

Ideal candidates will have experience / knowledge of basic installations of lighting in stores e.g. Cable Glands, Conduits, Track, light density and spread, cable types and loadings.
