Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Operative (Full Time and Permanent Position)

Location: Fishers Pond, Eastleigh, SO50 7HH but with travel all over Hampshire/ Dorset

Salary: Up to £26,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)

Benefits: Company Van (work use only), profit share bonus, company pension, investment in personal training and developments, 31 days holiday (inclusive on bank holidays), sick pay.

Peak Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 6.30am-3.30pm (Seasonal shift patterns change)

Our client, a leader in the landscaping space, have been established for over 40 years and are a flourishing landscaping specialist, serving a diverse range of clients, including commercial businesses and local authorities in predominantly the Hampshire region.

They are currently looking for a full time Grounds Maintenance Operative to join their team, reporting to the grounds contract manager, looking after business parks, retail parks, educational sites and other public areas mainly within the Hampshire area.

The successful candidates will be operating from their head office and depot near Eastleigh and the duties will consist of hedge cutting, shrub and rose beds maintenance, grass cutting to amenity areas, lawns and sports facilities as well as sports pitch markings.

Principal Accountabilities

• Deliver maintenance on sites to their specification in a timely and efficient manner.
• Strong operational experience, particularly of grounds maintenance, being able to confidently deal with horticultural maintenance matters on site.
• A good understanding of health & safety
• Ensure that the required resources, such as machinery and materials are on site by working closely with the grounds maintenance Contract Manager
• Taking the initiative when on site to push forward the job in line with program
• Accurate recording of times on site
• Deliver all works to a high quality standard
• Liaising with client/customers in a courteous and professional manner
• Delivery of all operational responsibilities in line with the company's policy and procedures

Required Experience

• Highly experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative ideally having previously worked within a landscape maintenance environment.
• Problem solving and decision making skills.
• A good understanding of grounds maintenance in particular sports markings, grass cutting, shrub and hedge maintenance
• Full UK driving license
• First Aid, CSCS, PA1 PA6a, Chainsaw & NVQ (Desirable, training provided if not)
• Able to work under own initiative and as part of a team
